26th World Scout Jamboree - Applications

World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will be held in Poland, on the beautiful island of

Wyspa Sobieszewska in Gdańsk, from 30th July to 8th August 2027. The theme

for the Jamboree is "Bravely". The UK Scout Association has committed to

participating in the World Scout Jamboree, but with a smaller contingent than Korea

– 70 units compared to 125. However the good news is that Kent will still be sending

3 units to the Jamboree and we expect to have 5 young people spaces allocated for

Gravesham.

Leader Selection

Attached is an information letter about applying for one of the 12 leadership roles (3x

Unit Leaders, 3x Deputy Unit Leaders, 6x Unit Team Members) as well as role

descriptions and people profiles. The Scout Association will run a centralised adult

application process, gathering key data and passing it to Kent. You need to apply

online by 30 th May, and Kent Scouts will then invite those who pass the initial

selection to a selection weekend at Bexon Lane Campsite from Friday 11th –

Sunday 13th July 2025. The cost for adults is not yet known but it is not expected

to exceed the cost of Korea. Adults will be expected to fundraise, though there will

be a small Kent kickstarter fund available.

Please do let me (Fraser) know if you are applying – see the information letter.

Young People selection

Young people must be aged 14–17 during the Jamboree. They must be born after

30th July 2009 and before 30th July 2013. Details of the selection process for

young people will be circulated in the next few months, but it is likely to involve an

application form to be completed in September and an overnight event in October /

November.

IST (International Service Team) Selection

The IST are adults who make the Jamboree happen – they are part of the UK

contingent but managed and directed by the Jamboree organisers. More details from

HQ are expected in the second half of 2025. Fraser Patrick Lead Volunteer - Gravesham Scouts.
