Dear All,
It is with deep regret and great personal sadness that I share the very sad news, Dean Harding our County Commissioner for Kent, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday 28th February.
Dean held many Group, District, County and Headquarters roles in the Scouts during his 35 years service. Dean served as the County Commissioner in Kent since 2016 and owing to his exceptional leadership, was rightly honoured with a Silver Wolf award in February of last year.
His dedication, tenacity, and unwavering commitment to Scouting in Kent were truly remarkable. Dean's vibrant spirit, coupled with his passion for creating opportunities for young people, has left an indelible mark on the County, Region and Country.
As we mourn the loss of a respected colleague and personal friend, let us remember Dean for the joy, fun, and inspiration he brought to our Scouting community. His absence will be keenly felt, but his legacy will undoubtedly endure. His passion for Lower Grange Farm and Scouting across Kent knew no bounds.
During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Alison, his family and his friends in Kent. May they find solace and strength in the many cherished memories they shared with Dean.
Details of arrangements will follow later. Any County communications will be handled by Neil Gearing (Interim County Commissioner). neil.gearing@kentscouts.org.uk
Thank you for your support
