Gravesham Back on the Water

To get us all back on the water and paddling, we will be holding a Leaders only skills refresh day on Sat 25-Sep-21 at Leybourne Lake for anyone that hasn’t been on the water for a while or would like just to have some personal time to practice skills. In addition, we can have a look at any permits as I have numerous requests for SUP permits, and I propose to run training and assessment for any aspiring SUP Permit holders.

  • Please let me know if you are attending by 18-Sep so I can keep track of numbers and brief how the day will run.

In addition, if anyone needs a Permit renewal / update for Kayak or Canoe please let me know, and will either try to fit this in or arrange a separate session.

For anyone wanting / needing a Bell Boat Permit I also hope to run a British Canoeing Bell Boat Helm course in Oct/Nov.

For Scouts and Explorers, I am running six ‘Spur..lash’ intro sessions at Leybourne in October (am & pm sessions - 9th, 23rd & 30thOct) to provide opportunity young people to have a go at paddling (max 15 per session)

For the more competent Scouts/Explorers, to develop skills and experience from Nov-21 through to Apr-22 I will be leading a monthly river session start/finish at either Teston Bridge or Allington Lock.

Booking details for these sessions will be out later this month.
