Training

Who needs to do it?

All adults in Scouting apart from Occasional Helpers and Scout Network members

What do I need to do?

Everyone needs to have in-date Safety and Safeguarding, plus Essential Information and GDPR.

Ask you GSL if you are not sure if you need to do / re-do these. They are all eLearning and available here: https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/learning-development-and-awards/getting-started-training/

All leaders and section assistants need to validate “Tools for the Role”; if this is outstanding for you then your GSL or a Training Advisor will be in touch.

Leaders also need to complete a Personal Learning Plan and gain a Wood Badge – something a Training Advisor will support you with.

Who are these training advisors?

We now have training advisors allocated to most groups – see the list below. If your group doesn’t have one, please speak to Fraser in the interim.

How do I do learning in lockdown?

Kent Scouts are offering a number of courses on Zoom - https://www.kentscouts.org.uk/1304

There are also eLearning opportunities and workbooks on the Scouts website -https://members.scouts.org.uk/supportresources/4675/learning-materials?cat=23,223&moduleID=10

Training advisors can also advise of other opportunities as they arise.
