Public advised to stop using some non-sterile alcohol-free wipes

For attention of all Scout Groups and Venues across the District.

On 5th Feb The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) updated their guidance regarding some non-sterile alcohol-free wipes that have been contaminated. The risk to the general population is low however immunocompromised individuals are at higher risk of being affected.

These four products should not be used under any circumstances:
 – ValueAid Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
 – Microsafe Moist Wipe Alcohol Free
 – Steroplast Sterowipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
 – Reliwipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes (added in Feb update)

All UK Suppliers shouldn’t be selling these wipes however any pre-existing ones in first aid kits should not be used.
