6 to 8 years

What are beavers? Beavers are young people aged between 6 – 8 years old. Beavers meet once every week and have lots of fun.

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of Gravesham Scouts. Our activities form a balanced programme and are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends. Beavers is open to all boys and girls aged 6-8 years old.

A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony, and each Colony can be split up into smaller groups called Lodges.

By taking part in Beaver activities, Beavers can earn a number of badges. When the Beavers achieve all the challenges, they will be awarded with the Chief Scout Bronze Award, the highest award available to Beavers.

We’re really excited to share the Beavers programme with you!

Each badge is packed with wow and wonder, perfect for anyone who’s ever asked ‘Why?’ (or ‘Why not?’). You’ll tell stories and play games. Get active and explore the outdoors. Become a brilliant builder and a super chef. There’s something for everyone – and that means that there’s something for you.

Become an expert in something you love, or try something shiny and new. There’s a badge to suit each and every Beaver.

As an inclusive and values based Movement, membership is open to all those individuals who share our fundamental values, and are willing to make a commitment to them, expressed by the Promise and Law.
