An opportunity to learn and grow campcraft skills, ranging from ropework to nutrition in the hills as well as map and compass work amongst other skills. All in prep for further adventures such as Hillcraft, District Hike and DofE Expeditions.

Winter Camp is the precursor to many other camps and events and helps to teach and develop many campcraft skills, ranging from ropework to nutrition in the hills as well as map and compass work amongst other skills. All Scouts and Explorers wishing to attend Easter Hillcraft must attend at least one full Winter Camp before attending an Easter Hillcraft. The main part of Winter Camp runs from 6pm on Friday until 10:30 am on the Sunday. From 10:30am on the Sunday those going to the upcoming Easter Hillcraft remaining and start work in their walking parties discussing what walks they wish to undertake whilst in the Lake District.
