Are you a leader in Gravesham Scouts eager to expand your skills and help more young people experience the thrill of climbing? This is your chance to contribute to our District's climbing provision and help us rebuild our dedicated team of climbing instructors!

Hopehill Auto Belay Training – June 14th!

Join us for a practical training session right here at Hopehill Scout Campsite on Saturday, June 14th, 2025. This hands-on course is designed to equip leaders with the essential skills needed to safely run climbing sessions using the auto belays at Hopehill.

You'll learn how to properly set up auto belays, fit harnesses, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and log equipment use. This is a perfect opportunity for any leader looking to lead or assist with climbing activities at our campsite.

The course runs in the morning (exact timings to be confirmed soon) and we currently have 8 spaces available. While this course specifically allows you to run sessions at Hopehill, it's also a fantastic stepping stone towards gaining a full climbing permit, which can be used anywhere.
