Beaver Activity Day - Teddy Bears Picnic

Gravesham Beaver Scouts enjoyed their first District event for a while last Saturday 16th October, when 48 Beaver Scouts from Riverview Park, Meopham, Istead Rise, 31st Gravesend and Culverstone & Vigo, came together at Hopehill and had an Activity Day.

The day was to celebrate Beaver Scouts being 35 years old this year and was run around the theme of a Teddy Bears picnic.

With bases which included making Teddy Bear cakes, printing Bear bags and hunting Bears in the woods (but just for cuddles). The day was rounded off with the singing of campfire songs, making sure everyone was in good voice and that the Leaders could remember the words. A lovely part of the day for me was being able to present Elliot with his Chief Scout Bronze Award, the highest award you can receive as a Beaver Scout- Well Done Elliot

From the responses I’ve received, I know that the Beaver Scouts and their Leaders went home tired and happy, which for me means the day was a good one.

A big THANK YOU to those who came along and made the day a success, it really is a team effort. If you are reading this and think you would like to join in the fun as an Adult Helper, or your Little Person is 6-8years old and would like to join us please use the Getting Involved contact form.
