Gravesham Beaver Scouts visit the Natural History Museum
Back in February Beaver Scouts from Gravesham went on an adventure to visit the Natural History Museum in London.
We started out from Gravesend at 8.30am on a double decker coach travelling to London which gave everyone the chance to look out for famous landmark. There was lots of excitement at seeing the Shard, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, with just as much excitement when we saw a tube train- at an overground station!
When we arrived 56 Young People, accompanied by their Leaders and helpers toured the museum. Simba had made a quiz which the Beaver Scouts used to navigate around, whilst learning about animals, space, dinosaurs, fossils, insects and our earth as well as lots of other things.
Most groups went to the picnic area to have lunch and recharge their batteries before completing the rest of the exploration around the Museum and finishing the quiz.
Finally, tired and with aching feet everyone returned to the coach for our journey home, which was a little quieter than the morning journey.
The Beavers all received a Museum souvenir badge to remember the trip and will have completed other parts of activity and challenge badges by what they have learnt.
A huge Thank you goes to Chris for the organisation and to Windmill Hill, 3rd Gravesend, Meopham, Higham, Culverstone & Vigo and 31st Gravesend for coming and joining us on our adventure.
Until next time...
