The Ultimate Team Challenge
for
Scouts & Explorer Scouts
This popular and challenging event is open to Scouts & Explorer Scouts, with classes to suite all abilities. Teams follow a carefully planned route and visit manned check-points. Leaders are on hand, providing a safety network of support and there are ‘sweepers’ to help those in difficulty. This is not a race! Hikers who drop out one day can start again the next, and full support is offered to beginners.
It is also an ideal opportunity for Scouts/Explorers to use the event as a starting point for the Hiker Badge, and counts towards the Hikes Away Activity Badge.
This major District Event normally requires a large adult team; in the past every section from Beavers to Scout Active Support has kindly provided assistance. If you can help, please make contact as soon as possible. There are some very comfortable check points this year!
Explorer Class: Teams should be experienced, capable and self-sufficient for the weekend, carrying all their kit with them. Full route cards will need to be completed for both days.
