1st Northfleet Squirrels make HISTORY!
It’s now just over 2 years since 1st Northfleet successfully launched their Squirrel Drey, since then the section has grown and we have great transition from the section to Beavers, strengthening the group from the ground up.
However, at our AGM this October we reached a massive milestone not only for our Squirrel Drey, but for the Group and for the District as the very first Chief Scout Acorn Awards in Gravesham were presented to 4 very deserving Squirrels!
The Chief Scout Acorn Award is very much like its counter parts in the other sections, it’s the highest direct section award a young person can achieve in their age group. To get it, the Squirrels needed to complete all four Challenge Awards and any two of the Activity Badges on offer to them. The Chief Scout’s Acorn Award shows that the awardee has had adventures, helped their friends, and learned new things – it’s a huge achievement for 4 and 5 year olds!

All four were there on the night to collect their award in front of nearly 100 people who whooped and cheered their awesome achievement!
Well done to all four of them, they truly deserve the award and I am sure they will be the first of many, many more to come!
