Bell Boating 2025

Children in colorful life jackets paddle a yellow canoe on a lake under a cloudy sky. Lush green trees line the background.

Once again we have the opportunity for evening Bell Boat sessions at Leybourne

Lake through June and July for Beavers / Cubs / Scouts / Explorers (sorry, not

suitable for Squirrels)

Sessions will need to be booked by email… onthewater@graveshamscouts.org.uk to

request your preferred date. You will need to find a Bell Boat permit holder or request

a permit holder to run the session for you.

Sessions are typically for 2hours and can start whenever you choose but must finish

by 20:30 as the park will close leaving vehicles locked in.

The cost for each session is £30 per boat for lake access fee and will be invoiced

following the session.

All participants will need:

  • Consent form (Participation Agreement)
  • Be able to swim

  • Swimming costume / suitable clothing (for wear in/on the water)

  • Footwear (for wear in/on the water)

  • Buoyancy Aid [provided]

  • Paddle [provided]

  • Towel

  • Change of clothing (dry) for after the session

Bell Boating – Leybourne Lake 2hr Session (Min 6 participant – Max 16 participants)

Available Jun – Jul 25 Dependent on volunteer availability to run session

If anyone is interested in a Bell Boat permit to run their own sessions, I will be

running an introduction web call on 30 th Apr @19:30 and this can then be

followed by a technical assessment running a session at the lake during June /

July. Please drop me a email onthewater@graveshamscouts.org.uk for full

details if you are interested.
