King and Queen Scouts from Gravesham at Windsor Castle
Last Sunday saw 5 King and Queen’s Scouts from Gravesham joining over 20 from Kent at the National Day of Celebration at Windsor Castle.
After checking in at the local army barracks, uniform inspection and being taught to march they assembled after lunch to parade through the castle to line up in the quadrangle. They were inspected by the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire (the King’s representative), the Chief Scout Bear Grylls, Scout Ambassadors (including Dwayne Fields, Ellie Simmonds and Warwick Davies) and the UK Scout team. They then marched through the castle before a service in St George’s Chapel, then marching back to the Royal Mews to be dismissed.
Congratulations to Amber Patrick, Daniel Griggs, James Dixon, James Parmenter and Jordan Cameron on attending a day they will remember forever and making parents, family and friends proud.
"Windsor King Scout Parade was an amazing opportunity to be involved in such a prestigious event. It was a really fun day to be involved with and I would love to hear of more people in our district and Scouting achieve this top award." - James Parmenter
